The Spanish city of Barcelona is partnered with the US city of New York to work on access to affordable housing through community land trusts, housing finance, disposition of city assets and development of modular housing.
Representatives from NYC and Barcelona attended Intersections 2019 Conference. This conference provided further knowledge about community land trusts and the implementation in different contexts, and provided networking opportunities with other experts.
Chief Operating Officer and Acting President at the NYC Housing Development Cooperation will travel to Barcelona to provide technical assistance so they can create a strategy on how to implement bond financing and other financial models in Barcelona.
