This city pairing is currently working on the development and implementation of strategies for urban mobility challenges at the local level. They aim to achieve this through the support of innovative methods and technologies and the collaboration with relevant actors of policymaking.

The start of 2019 saw a Global Covenant of Mayors (GCoM) Signing Ceremony take place at the Government Palace of the State of Yucatan in Merida (Mexico).
