Learn from IUC cities at the fourth annual IUC City-to-City event

Since 2017, cities and subnational regions from across the world have been brought together via the IUC programme. All participating cities gather once per year for a global knowledge-sharing City-to-City event. On 3 December 2020, for the first time, the IUC programme is extending City-to-City event participation to all interested persons, cities and sustainability leaders.

This event will be an opportunity to reflect on the progress made by IUC cities and regions, including celebrating successes, understanding challenges faced, and collectively discovering solutions to overcome them.

This online, one-day event will be held over a variety of times between 9:00-17:30 CET to ensure that those from all IUC regions are able to join. Interactive group discussions will facilitate exchange, particularly through deep dives on two main topics:

  • The unique urban challenges faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent efforts to kickstart recovery; and
  • Long-term strategies for climate neutrality, and related governance challenges.

It will feature speakers from the European Commission, IUC Cities, and relevant international institutions. Moreover, all the plenary sessions will be live-streamed in English, with translation in Chinese, Japanese and Spanish.
