Cities engaged within the IUC programme either by taking part in IUC pairings or as signatories of the Global Covenant of Mayors are invited to apply to become global ambassadors for the International Urban Cooperation programme.
Do you wish to share the innovative solutions brought forward within your city-to-city cooperation? Would you like to inspire other cities and pairings across the globe with your pilot actions and local Action plans? Do you want to exchange on your local climate and energy action? Then apply to become an IUC ambassador and share your IUC cooperation experience globally!
The selected pairings/signatories will have flights and accommodation covered to travel to key events across the globe to present their work as part of the IUC programme.
Successful applicants will be keen public communicators with an impressive track record within the IUC programme. Having a passion for sustainable development and an understanding of the role of the IUC programme in supporting cross-border development is a big advantage!
IUC ambassadors will not only profile the IUC programme, but bring international attention to their city’s work in the field of sustainable urban development.
