The baseline study for Sustainable Tourism in Leh has been commissioned as part of the strategic collaboration amongst the cities of Leh - Farkadona/Trikala/Meteora under the European Union International Urban Cooperation (IUC)-India program. The study represents the key deliverable of the Urban Cooperation Local Action Plan for the city of Leh. The report has been based on secondary research, stakeholder consultations, case studies and review of recommendations.

These presentations were made by representatives of Vilnius city as part of the training program on solid waste management, sustainable tourism and urban planning delivered on December 17th 2020. This training program was part of the ongoing cooperation between Vilnius and Kochi under EU-International Urban Cooperation program. The objective was to share best practices in the areas of waste management, urban planning and sustainable tourism. The presentations covered the waste management cycle in Vilnius (e.g., waste quantity, characteristics, collection and transportation, treatment and final disposal), tourism management (e.g., statistics, challenges, strategy, COVID-19 response), etc. A number of additional Indian cities attended the event

The baseline study on “Sludge to Energy” project has been commissioned as part of the Udaipur-Aarhus cooperation under the European Union’s International Urban Cooperation (IUC)-India program. The study represents the key deliverable of the Urban Cooperation Local Action Plan for the city of Udaipur. The study represents the key deliverable of the Urban Cooperation Local Action Plan for the city of Gangtok. The report has been based on secondary research, stakeholder consultations, case studies and review of recommendations.

IUC India in collaboration with TERI India delivered in September and October 2020 a capacity building programme on 'Mainstreaming Urban Climate Action'. The programme was based on four short webinar modules focusing on building the capacity and knowledge of practitioners in urban local bodies (ULBs), state representatives, policy experts, researchers, scholars, and university students. The webinar on contract development and management of PPP projects was conceptualised and delivered under the IUC/India program. The main objective of the webinar was to build capacity of urban local bodies towards PPP procurement and management, understand the complexities, improve contract development and management and develop better projects. The webinar covered the benefits of PPP projects, lifecycle, key features, risk management, bidding, case studies, etc.

The report has been based on secondary research, stakeholder consultations, case studies and review of recommendations.

Aarhus and Udaipur have been working together under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Strategic Sector Cooperation since 2018 on the broader themes of urban water management. Aarhus and Udaipur entered into a MoU in December 2016. Udaipur and Aarhus joined European Union’s International urban cooperation program on June 4th, 2019 and December 18th, 2019 respectively. Since then, IUC is working with both the cities to further strengthen this already formed partnership and work on sludge to energy technologies.
